Kenya Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) currently offering therapeutic and counseling services in North Carolina. As a Master of Social Work (MSW) student, she completed a practicum with the Department of Social Service, Veterans Affairs, and Quality Comprehensive Health Care. Therefore, focusing on collaborations with evidence-based therapies to achieve the best optimal for clients’ physical, mental, and emotional health.
In 2020, Kenya graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland University College. Never one to neglect her roots, Kenya uses past military experiences to mentor veterans transitioning from the military to civilian life. Kenya has assisted veterans through what can be a very fearful time of change in their lives by providing counseling and supportive services.
Kenya is a strength-based therapist that vigorously advocates mental wellness, holistic care, and cultural and diversity awareness. She has experience providing services to the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, adolescents, and adults. Her professional interests focus on resilience, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts, stress, and self-identity. Kenya involves her clients in culturally informed interventions, emphasizing therapeutic mindfulness practice, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and compassion-focused therapy.
Kenya’s personal goal is to educate, empower, and uplift, ensuring that individuals understand their worth no matter the circumstances.
Kenya is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and CIGNA. Kenya also accepts self-pay clients.
